Our foremost mission is to develop safe, dependable and reliable stay-at-home, family-centered assisted living services for elderly gays and lesbians, and for family and friends of lesbians and gays. It is our belief that elderly lesbians and gay men have been overlooked by the senior living industry, and that the needs and desires of elderly lesbians and gays must be both recognized and appreciated.

Rainbow Gardens Stay at Home Assisted Living will provide quality care and professional assistance with daily living activities by a carefully selected staff who understands and appreciates cultural differences and sexual orientation, and we will provide these assisted living services in the privacy of your home or apartment.

About Rainbow Gardens:

Assisted living emphasizes the personal and social requirements of elderly individuals who need some assistance with daily living activities (e.g., housekeeping, meal preparation, and medication management). Rainbow Gardens Stay at Home Assisted Living services are uniquely designed to address these needs for lesbians and gay men who require assisted living services, and who wish to remain living at home. Rainbow Gardens Stay at Home Assisted Living provides a gay/lesbian-friendly, carefully selected supportive staff.

(Note that Rainbow Gardens is an Assisted Living service and, as such, does not provide skilled nursing care services such as those provided in nursing homes.)

Rainbow Gardens Stay at Home Assisted Living offers:

• A reliable single source Advance Degree Professional Geriatric Care Manager to set up a contact person within the Stay at Home staff who will access, coordinate, schedule and to provide the necessary at home services to meet your special needs while living at home.
• A reliable emergency voice response system with access and response capabilities providing professional follow-up in your home anytime.
• A caring, professionally trained team made up of staff members providing dependable, quality contact via telephone or video conferencing (if available in your area -- paid for by client) for check-ins, monitoring, or socializing.
• Compassionate, professionally bonded caregivers sensitive to Gay and Lesbian cultural differences (licensed nurses or aides) coming to your home whenever desired or required for personal wellness checks or for at-home care and services as required.
• Dependable, convenient medication setup and monitoring by competent nurses as needed. At home administration as an option.
• Delicious, freshly prepared nutritionally balanced meals delivered to your door, or can include "special cooking" in your own home by our special staff.
• Dependable, safe, scheduled transportation to fit all of your needs.
• Trustworthy, capable, trained and bonded personnel to provide housekeeping. Also, home maintenance needs as they arise.
